Tv and people on forum..talk about how much the performance of a player varies and his effort is the thing that matters. There is a lot of factors that play into outcomes, with a good amount of it based on randomness and opponents etc. Take nhl player..one game 3 goals..next zero...I think the difference in.performance can be none or tiny..factors like luck and opponents health play into the result more and more.
