#5or Derrick Rose
the landing from the high flying dunks takes a toll on the knees and ankles and hips to some extent.
you don't get paid more for a high flying crazy slam then you do for a nonchalant lay in or tiny flush
but don't tell these youngins..... It's better for our entertainment nowComment -

yeah for Zion the Torque is off the charts compared to someone like D Rose or Blake because the way the torque rises exponentially with the mass increase is quite crazy. So the Torque that Zion's freak muscles are doing to his joints, ligaments, and tendons are something that I don't think we've ever seen yet in professional sports. Because a guy of his mass has never gone as vertical with a huge x-axis drift before.
with freaks in sports we normally see that their musculature will eventually damage their connective tissues. But oftentimes that has been due to stature discrepancies and more often due to PED use, which compromises connective tissue while strengthening muscle tissue.
I think Zion is a good case study. But I think a shorter, but still heavily muscles athletic freak like Derrick Rose, that loved to go hard to the rim and dunk, offers a good template for what Zion will encounter going forward.
let's just hope his shoes and his jock hold out these daysComment -

#11Zion is more like Dominique then Rose or Blake Griffin.
Guys who play basketball know sometimes it's easier to double clutch in the air and power through the opponent then just go straight up. I know when I was playing, double clutching was always easier because the defender never knew it was coming, and just kept me on balance in the air for some reason.
You can never predict when a player will get injured. Guys who don't play above the rim get injured all the time too. At some point Zion will break down but I think the thing that's underestimated is his pure power. He is far stronger than Blake Griffin in his prime, and has more moves on the elbow than Griffin.
I think Zion will play a solid 13-14 years in the league if he doesn't get hurt.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

I remember when my friends on the school bus used to say Kobe would be nothing like Jordan. And then later in life when they'd say Lebron would never win a ring.
95% of this world prematurely reacts to things.
I always look at the big picture and try to look into the future. Bearing an injury, Zion will definitely be a hall of famer.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#17What a dumb comparison. Dominique’s first two seasons were unimpressive, if you were older morino, you’d know this.
Checkout the latest stats of Dominique Wilkins. Get info about his position, age, height, weight, draft status, shoots, school and more on Basketball-Reference.com
...or if you were semi-literate you could have just googled his rookie & sophomore stats.
instead you chose to compare a player who was slow starting coming into the league to a player who has exploded onto the scene.
quit clogging up my threads with your utter bullshit.

#28I don't think a Wilkins comparison is bad. Zion can become more like Wlkins when he loses a few pounds and develops a perimeter game, which he will.
There's really. not many you can compare Zion too. Zack Randolph maybe with the explosion? Look at Randolph. Guy was a monster in the NBA and literally couldn't jump. Had a great career. Zion should be able to do much more than that.
