Kalshi is regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a Designated Contract Market (DCM).

I thought they had other markets, but upon re-examination it looks like it is all political markets.

Tradesports used to have some of this stuff as well.

I am aware that the CFTC was looking into some of this way back when.

Who exactly sets the rules and settles these markets? One of my concerns with these "unique props" is it's really easy to think it's a clear-cut yes-no only to find that later events create an ambiguity in settlement. Anytime I see these I'm always thinking "what if...". Expect the unexpected.
