I doubt there is any edge to be had here, but at +200 on either side to score first, hard to not flick the max bet of $25 to win $75 on one of them.

Is this just a 50/50 (albeit at +200 odds) as it seems to me, or do one of you know something I don't to lean one way over the other?

IMO if the promo is +200 on either side then put it on the favorite. If they're more likely to score more points over the course of the game then they're probably more likely to score the first basket.
