#41if i was starting a team would i be happy prime rivers was my QB? I am 50/50 on that. he has good numbers but was he great? not sure. i just felt like he threw it up too often for INT's and doesn't have the championship(s) to accept that.
he was a warrior and battled though playing all of his games each year. that says something. i don't think it warrants hall of fame personally.Comment -

#45It's not about hate - but a future HOF NFL QB that hasn't won anything or close to anything is absurd.Comment -

#50Only six QB's in NFL history have passed for more than 4000 yards in a season for six or more seasons.
They are:
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Tom Brady
Brett Favre
Dan Marino
Phillip Rivers
Rodgers hasn't done it (yet)
Neither has Eli, Ben, Matt Ryan.......Comment -

#54Rivers reminded me of Dan Marino when he was coming out of NC State. Looked like he had a gun for an arm. As soon as he was a starter in San Diego the ugly arm motion and velocity stopped. All of his passes look loopy. Never saw him throw a frozen rope in the nfl. Alway soft looking passes like Chad Pennington. Im willing to bet he threw more end zone interceptions than anyone in nfl history. Seems like every game winning opportunity late in the fourth quarter he threw an interception or something bad happened. Either not enough attention to detail or just not as good as the numbers say.Comment -

#55I think he does. I'm OK with those who disagree though.
Rivers is to the NFL in this debate (HoF) as Mike Mussina is to MLB.
Fans were pretty much split up the middle on their opinion whether Mussina belongs in the baseball Hall.
Fans so far seem like they are pretty much split up the middle regarding Rivers too.Comment -

#56Definitely hall of fame.
The rubbers he used with his wife gave him about as much protection as his offense line.Comment -
