It's because there are more things to bet on in the biggest games.

In an October game between the Titans and Texans, I cannot bet on total number of carries by the backup runningback, distance of first punt, team to recover the first fumble, etc. Need to have just a few outs and I have access to thousands of bets like that on the Super Bowl. By putting all these lines on the board, it is certain there will be something with an edge for the bettor. It is my job to find them and pick them off.

Now the first few days after it comes out there is some movement... Then it seems to lock in even if some high roller in Vegas bets $500,000 on it.. Of course his 1/2 million may not mean as much as $500. to others. It's all relative.
