was thinking about going up for 1 night for birthday weekend.

I have never been and have low expectations.
I think each of the tribes charges like .50 a hand surcharge.
I believe you buy your own drinks but not a big deal to me (just won't get as drunk as Vegas)

    Any info would be great.

I have been to both many times.

Drinks are free if you are gambling.

Winstar is nicer in terms that it is closer to Texas

Are you planning on playing a lot of BJ? If so, I’d rather go to Shreveport and play there. Reason being if you are playing on a table with only 2-4 players, you will pay around $40-$50 an hour per hand for the ante. So 6 hrs of play costs you $200-300.

Even the full tables will be around $20 an hour.

However if you are playing poker, both Winstar and Choctaw have good Poker Rooms. Either is a good choice.

If you decide to go to Shreveport, be sure to get your play rated. If you gamble a lot you will likely get your room/food comped or a discounted rate.

It’s been 2 years since I’ve been to either, so I have no idea how they are handling COVID.

By the way, I have been to both casinos about 3 times since June. They shut off about 1/2 of their slot machines so to socially distance. I think that blackjack only allows 4 max per table. The casinos are very crowded I should point out

Good point. I can stay free in Shreveport with Caesars and NOT pay the ante fee.
Really just to play BJ and 3 card poker

Are you sure about that? I have been to Durant and the free drinks were soda not alcohol.

do not go...Oklahoma is garbage as well as the casinos there. Being from Dallas, I went to both but only once. Forget AA meetings, send compulsive gamblers to these casinos and they will never want to gamble again.

Agree 100% with Mpasch.....go to Louisiana if you really want to gamble.

                Thanks Mpaschal34 !
I'm not sure why I didn't think of Shreveport. It is same drive there as to Lake Charles but it will be free.
It's also half way to Oxford, MS for my son who will be driving back.

Yeah...if more than one person is going you certainly want to stay away from Oklahoma. It’ll rake over a $1000 when combined.

Good luck....feel free to give a status report since it’s been a while since I’ve been. Before Covid, I went to Vegas 3 times so I never made it over to Shreveport in 2019.
