#6Belichick never did anything in his life except coach football.
His father Steve set him up as a teenager.
To think a cheat like Belichick deserves the freaking Medal of Freedom
is so offensive only a cad like Trump would ever conceive of such a thing.
But it was Obama who cheapened the Medal of Freedom first. He set the precedent.

#7Belichick is just looking for something to do this week because his team sucks.
Whether he takes it or not, Belichick was, and always will be, a piece of shit.
And I've been a Pats fan for 40 years.Comment -

#8I think the rest of his coaching career, he'll only be about or around 50% wins .How old is he now? I should say in the next 5 years or so. Perhaps he could improve with draft choices in 7 to 10 years, but when you've been a winner for so long and NOW, what does he have. He's sorta like Trump, who has had everything he ever wanted wanted. And then Brady said NO. But they will both kiss his ass. Money Money Money.Comment -

Bills caught and passed Belichick so quickly, and I do not see them giving up their East reign anytime soonComment -

#12Yeah, he's done. He should look at Landry and Noll's final 5 years in coaching. They never got back to anything close to where they were. One was fired, the other forced to resign.
Shula was interesting. Yes, he still had Marino in good form, but went to the playoffs 3 of his last 4 years and was ridden out of Miami on a rail for Jimmy Johnson, who did worse in his years than Shula in his final 4 years.

#14However, he has decided not to move forward with accepting the award following the violence that broke out at the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday.
"Above all, I am an American citizen with great reverence for our nation's values, freedom and democracy," Belichick said in the statement. "I know I also represent my family and the New England Patriots team."Comment -

#29Nobody should be given this medal for just winning sporting events.
If they use their fame/popularity to do a lot of good (example: charity), then sure.Comment -
