I received my stimulus on Monday.
My wife received hers on Friday.
(For business reasons we file separately, those who know about business and finance know some times it's better for family business that way)
Now a part of me wants to take that money and buy my wife s new vibrator and my dogs new gold plated leashes and spend the rest foolishly.
Here's the plan, the stimulus money we received pretty much covers the utility bills and the mortgage payment for the month of February.
My condo was built a little over 25 years ago, all the original vitals (central air, plumbing etc..) is getting to the point where it needs some tweaking, not overhaul replacing, but tweaking. The stimulus money that is going to pay next months bill frees up the money that will pay for a licensed plumber and electrician. Like certified ASE mechanics certified plumbers, electricians get between 80 and 120 dollars per hour they don't come cheap, the best professionals never come cheap. The most accurate truism is the truism that states "you get what you pay for"
Doctors and surgeons and lawyers get law and medical degrees, I respect those guys they do what I can't do, like the good plumbers and electricians that get certified and studied conduits and electricity I can't do that they are experts and what they do, work with both their hands brilliantly But those guys have been known to call me on advice or help on their shops business computer systems.
That's what I do, I'm certified IT geek.
See where I'm going here in a long winded manner that nobody does better than me.
Brevity was never my forte, and think that's been established.
Point being I am pretty damn sure the folks in charge down there in DC would say to me "that's exactly what we want us do with the money we sent to you and your wife" that is put in play with the local professional electricians and plumbers, their shops and business's could use the work since I need some work done, and conversely if their business computer systems need tweaking, business software upgrades, faster download/upload speeds anything IT related they call me or somebody else like me that is certified in what I do, but like the auto mechanic I get between 80 and 120 per hour also, oh sure I do favors for free to buddies once in a while but as the age old adage goes "the business of business is business"
