It’s interesting with Charlie weis Notre dame was a national championship contender but the team was trash some years. With Brian Kelly they win 9-10 games a year but they get blown out by the elite teams repeatedly.

When you play all year long Duke and Syracuse and Georgia Tech who have slow receivers and running backs you think your team is dominating on defense. Then you play SEC teams and your defense is slow because they haven't seen speed like that all year long. So Kelly likes to play an easy schedule and then getting exposed by SEC in meaningful games.
