Raiders didn’t play the situation. Any pass thrown to the sidelines should have been intercepted. Thats the only way you lose that game. Not a coaching thing, but a player awareness thing.
A Vegas TD and the FG isn't an option....Chuckie phucked up!

Anyone else feel like tomorrow is Monday? Between yesterday and today with football, it feels like I should be going back to work tomorrow.

Gruden is an idiot. Only scenario you pass up the TD to kick is if time is pretty much all but gone.
Ask any OC, they’d much rather be down 2 with 20 seconds than 6 with a minute to go. It’s really hard to score a TD in the NFL. A FG, not so much.

exactly, you don't call to go down at the 1 then do a str8 qb kneel if you know you can only run the clock down to around 25 sec before the fg kick...
amazing! then they grab a facemask while also failing to defend the sidelines appropriately...
but i mean... we all saw the minny miracle correct??? dude literally TOOK A DIVE

Which Gruden are you talking about? You could say the same thing about the Harbaughs and the Ryan brothers. They all suck.

I am sure he will be back, bit premature to fire him over that game only. He is doing a decent job give how awful his defense is.

He got rid of Mack before he could play another game. Gave Amari Cooper away for beans. Yet he has had to fire his defensive coordinator and wonders why he can’t out score every other team. Waller is his best player and his best running back stays hurt. He won’t make the playoffs next year either. Average is the best the Raiders can do under gruden.

Would like to see a screen shot of the whole field on that play (anybody have it?)
Some kind of cover 2/ deep zone. Miami had them scouted and knew there was a seam there. QB was throwing to a spot:

I think Flores' coaching staff is underrated in terms of planning for specific teams and half time adjustments. It wouldn't surprise me if they did have something scouted....maybe the safety looking at the QBs eyes too much. Fitzpatrick said he looked the safety off.
Here's an interesting tweet that shows how the play played out and that claims it's the third most "improbable" throw and catch this year. Doesn't really account for the QB throwing the ball with his head turned around imo.

He did the right thing.
It took some guy being super open 45 yards downfield with a 15 yard face mask added on to lose.

Raiders would have lost anyway. 1 minute is too much time for Fitzpatrick to get a game winning TD drive

Raiders weren't suppose to be that good this year. Chucky still building a roster. Give coach some time. Raiders will be back and better next year.

He did the right thing. Gurley scored a TD for Falcons and the Lions game back and scored a TD with 1 min left.
If jjgold wasn't mowing lawns he would have (not) been a football coach.

I listened to it online. He said "I don't believe what I just saw" The way he said it, makes me believe he had Raiders ml. Brent likes to gamble.
