It took me 6 tries to finally quit. I tried everything. What it finally came down to was the realization that smoking was going to kill me if I did not stop. I love my family too much and did not want to leave them because I could not quit, so I took some advice from my doctor, picked a date to stop (Halloween so I had an excuse to eat a ton of candy), and quit. Period. Well not quite. I had a device which basically allowed you to smoke kind of like you would smoke an electric cigarette today, but it was so slow and so useless I just said "screw it" and stopped using it.

You can do it if you really set your mind to it. You have to really want to quit to do so. It is very difficult. I certainly hope that you are successful. GL.
