I'm not against anybody, but what does "Bad variance" even mean?

Is this what he says instead of saying "I had the wrong side" or simply saying "I lost"

What does bad variance even mean?

It means things happened in the game that he didn't foresee happening which caused him to lose the wager. Had those things not transpired so unexpectedly, he would have won his wager. However, this only is applicable to losses in his mind
He has never won a bet where unexpected events took place resulting in the win. That would be good variance i assume, but that doesn't exist. Every bet he's ever won everything in the game was expected and happened as it should, i.e. no good luck involved. Every bet he's ever lost was a result of bad luck, things happening that one may deem "bullshit", or as our fearless leader like to so eloquently put it "bad variance".
