Haven’t really spent a lot of time there but going through it 2-3 times a year it seems to have really grown. The proximity to Cincinnati and the airport help. Campbell County school district is very strong

Dude he is a great man. My fathers family is from Manchester and was involved in the clay county wars. One of his relatives was the most crooked gov. In ky history. When I was young we went to family and ritchie farmer was there but he was just a fat kid at that time. It is one of the dumbest states in the USA. They hate Ohio but come to cincy to work,get their meth or oxies. Only great thing about that state is horse racing. My brother just bought 60 acres because land is so cheap.

Just because the counties get painted red on election maps, doesn't mean the WHOLE state of Ky are Dumbpublicans.

If you have a delusion that your kids will be edumacated a certain way - then home-schooling would be best. And if worried about them learning sex education by kindergarten - well, all the church schools will be out of the equation.
Ky was able to win back a Dem Gov because of teachers. Biven was so brash and pompous towards the teachers and professors that they turned out in droves to vote him out.

If leaning with libertarian values - especially for less taxes. Well...you're gonna hate Ky. We tax damn near everything. It's low, but Ky hits you with taxes every way they can. And not just state- the counties, the cities, the municipalities, etc.

For most of this state the counties are 60/40 or 65/35 red/blue, with exceptions of Louisville and Lexington.

Ky needs all the extra 130k jobs we can get. Need all extra tax revenue we can get. All the hillbillies sitting on their front stoops while smoking cheap cigs and mouth breathing noise about us city folk or suburbanites, all while they are on medicare/medicaid and getting SNAP, AND living in income-based housing.
The motto for an over-whelming amount of jack-legs in this state ought to be "Handouts to White people is God's will, handouts to POC is the Devil's work."

Ky is constantly one of the leading "taker" states when it comes to federal funds. Depending on the source or year, it always has Ky receiving way more in federal funds vs federal taxes collected and sent to DC.

Roughly 22% or around 1.2 million of the state is on Medicaid. And roughly 21% or 1.1 million are on Medicare. Ky needs all the federal matching funds it can get.

And Alexandria in Campbell County, ain't exactly a beacon of chest-thumping maga hat Trump cultists. The county also has Newport Ky. Huge sections of Newport that are government backed housing projects. I worked up there a long time ago(about 25 yrs) on various housing places. One was a huge, maybe 8-10 floors, elderly housing building. All 1BR units, and almost all white people. Those old azz white people acted like they were kings and queens. All while the place they lived was government subsidized and rent-controlled based on their SS and/or disability check.
2020 election results for Campbell County Ky 28,482 for trump, 19,374 for Biden. Not exactly the 100% cultist utopia a red-hat may be looking for.

But cost of living is pretty low, even with all the extra little taxes added on every little way.

My most recent paystub I grossed 1069.60(I don't normally gross that high year round. I had a little OT. And some parts of year work gets super slow and I'm one of first to always volunteer to leave early vs twiddling my thumbs and doing some BS cleaning. So sometimes gross can be as low as 200-250) So anyway - my Ky state tax was 51.05, and the city tax was 16.04 - all taxes, fed, fica, fica-ss, st, city was 290.47
