Aikman isn't the best announcer but he played before qb's were treated like little girls.

Flyovers are no different than other training exercises. I see the Air Force sortie multiple jet fighters out of Hickam Air Force Base all the time. They go out one at a time in two or four plane flights. They meet up at a designated point and continue their training exercise. Whether they fly over the ocean or a stadium, it serves the same purpose: it's a training exercise in meeting up and flying in formation with other manuevers thrown in. So to call a flyover as a waste of money is ludicrous.

Beyond it’s use as a training exercise, it also serves the purpose of promoting the military. They got to recruit too.

I recall hearing this years ago when people complained about the cost, and what a waste that it was. What they didn't realize was that these pilots didn't just fuel up their planes to fly over a football game to impress the crowd, they had that flyover scheduled in with their routine flight training.

You would think that Aikman and especially Buck would know this.
