The Yankees were heavily favored over the Pirates. The series went 7 games. 2 of the Yankees wins were by scores of 10-0 and 12-0. But the Pirates won game 7 by 1 run with a dramatic 9th inning home run. Those were the days of transistor radios and games played during the daytime. This Dodger-Brave series while not the world series is reminding me of that.

Love him or hate him, you have to admit his foreign policy positions and predictions and actions represent the last time the US was actually right and justified in exerting international influence. Since China/ Russia and the withdrawal from Vietnam there hasn't been any US leader whose come close to keeping other sections of the world at bay.
