Ben would win easily. Everyone would be trying to hold onto his legs to keep up.

I hope the Vikes keep him but what's the point of trying to win now as a franchise when you can accumulate draft pix and cut cap

Vikes can replace him w a slew of others next year....Ruan, Turninsky, Darnold, Fitzpatrick, Stafford, Dalton, maybe get Luck out of retirement, etc
if Cousins was great you would be shitting yourself right now at trading a franchise quarterback.

This is never happening. Don't bother even entertaining it (with SF I mean)

Jimmy literally has a high ankle sprain so he can't put any weight on his throwing foot, hence why he hasn't looked good

        Bears for Trubisky

        Jets for Darnold

        Skins for Haskins

they could also check with the Colts to swap for Rivers right now, at least Rivers isn't due any money next year and would be perfect for the Vikes tank this year

the goal for the Vikes should be to get a cheap young QB back who they could try developing into a serviceable backup at least and then draft a real QB in a year or two after tanking

the last thing the Vikes should want to do is take back an equally bad QB with a terrible contract like Jimmy G, that accomplishes nothing
This is a really good post.

Some say the second most important player on an NFL roster is the backup QB.

I dislike Jerry Jones but there was a reason why he obtained Andy Dalton.

A good back up QB on a teams bench is the same as a really good home insurance policy for your home in case in get wrecked by a hurricane,
        You're covered.

The Giants won a SB in part because of a backup Jeff Hoestetller.
Simms goes down in the middle of a career year he was having, up step Hos.

Historians will tell you about Earl Morrall, a career back up QB who led two teams to Super Bowls.
He backed up a legend, Johnny Unitas.
        Jim Plunkett is another example.
There's a reason why Dan Orlovsky was in the NFL for 13 seasobs.
His role on the teams he played for, mainly the Lions was the back up QB role.
I know a little something about Dan, he was born half a mile from where I live.
He played HS up the street from where I live.
He played QB for my home town college where I live UCONN.
He hold a lot of UCONN records. He was the face of UCONN football.
There's a reason why he only started 12 NFL games in 13 years, the reason was he was a really good insurance policy that was important to have but that insurance policy the teams had wasn't needed but it still important to have,

Now back to Jimmy, from what I read the chance of a full recovery are near 100 percent.
If it's deemed Jimmy can't come back here's a thought.
I am reading where the Falcons want to move on from Matt Ryan.
Maybe obtain Matty for the rest of this year and give him one year (next year only) contract, draft a quality kid out of college and groom him.

That's if Jimmy can't come back.
If he can than Jimmy will be SF's guy for awhile and this other talk is just moot.

Teams dump franchise qbs when the going gets rough but then they become irrelevant for 3 years instead of the 1 bad one.

The Vikings really out to be 3-2 here. It's not Kirk's fault, it's Zimmers god forsaken 1997 style defense that he relays on to win games, but really havent been able to get off the field on 3rd down for 2 years running now.

But anyway, teams have moved on from Montana, Manning, Brady, Cunningham, Favre, Rivers, Kreig, Kosar, McNabb, Culpepper, Bledsoe, Moon, Flacco, etc and most of those teams had a 3 year stretch of non playoffs instead of a 1 year run of bad luck.
