As someone who lives on E Hastings I can say some of it is not that bad. It's really E Hastings & Main and everything west from there.

Edmonton is a dump and everything is way too spaced out.

Toronto is #1 in my eyes as it has everything and lots of suburbs with plenty to do, not far from the border.

Montreal has attractive women but a lot of things are old/run down and I'm not a fan of all that historic stuff

Vancouver born and raised - can ski, swim and go for a run all on the same day. Everything feels close. When it's a clear sunny day in the summer there's nothing that beats it being by the water. A lot of underrated restaurants here and I love being close to Seattle/Portland (within 5-5.5 hour drive to Portland) Cons: Homeless problem is only getting worse and it is pricey but not as pricey as people make it out to be. Maybe I am use to it but I get by just fine. If you want to own you can move to Burnaby or Port Moody somewhere in the suburbs and find a condo for 400-500k.

Calgary isn't bad but downtown is very quiet. Stampede season you'll see drunks and action but it's a quiet place for their population. Would take it over Edmonton as it's not AS cold (still is really cold in the winter) but nothing about Calgary excites me.

Every other 'big' city in each province is average at best. Don't get me started with Saskatoon or Winnipeg.

Weather wise there are only two cities in all of Canada to live, Vancouver and Victoria.
Global warming has made these two have even better, weather wise.
Most years you could golf 12 months of the year.
