    RIP Joe Morgan
For the second time in less than a week, Major League Baseball has lost a legend.

Two-time National League MVP Joe Morgan has passed away at the age of 77. USA Today’s Bob Nightengale was the first to report the news.

According to Nightengale, Morgan “died Sunday at his home in Danville, Calif., his family said in a statement, from non-specified polyneuropathy.” WebMD defines polyneuropathy as a condition which damages the peripheral nerves.

On Friday, the New York Yankees announced Whitey Ford had died at 91.

The last two months have been just terrible for baseball’s aging Hall of Famers.

In addition to losing Morgan and Ford, New York Mets legend Tom Seaver died on Aug. 31, St. Louis Cardinals speedster Lou Brock died on Sept. 2 and former Cardinals teammate Bob Gibson died on Oct. 2.

                        .
What the heck is that? Nerve damage? A brain aneurysm? I saw him on tv a few months ago and he looked in great shape? Very sad.

2020 has been the worst year ever.

Great player. Most of what I learned about the game outside of playing it was listening to him broadcast as a child. RIP. Sad.

The Red Machine. Never got to see him play before my time, but great analyzer of the game. I would literally tune in and watch the game to hear his comments. Even with no action.

                                                              No, dammit.

Such a great player. Don't think history appreciated just how good he was.

Palmer talked about the WS vs the Reds. Morgan wasn't on the team yet, and that might have made the difference.

Funny thing...Johnny Bench really didn't like Pete Rose. But he LOVED Joe Morgan.
