#36Well said. I think the difference was like 1 extra year and $8 million ($2 million extra per)... just seems short sighted. He will either get something from Dallas or he will go elsewhere.Comment -

#37I agree with you however, Dak Prescott "can't really believe" he's worth $250 million for 5 years or $160 million for 4 years. He didn't set a realistic amount to begin with. Some family member should have slapped the hell outta him when he turned down $38 million for 5 years, with a fat signing bonus too. Football is a dangerous sport, and right now maybe 2-3 QB's can legit turn down that kind of money and two of them have superbowls, Dak was outta line.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeWhat if you were worth $400 million but was offered $200 million? Most of us would take the $200 million because it’s more than we can even imagine and it’s certainly much more than most people feel they are worth. However, if you truly believed you were worth $400 million, truly in your heart. Why wouldn’t you bet on yourself?Comment -

#38Dak should fire his agent after he gets out of surgery. #39Hmmm, I thought it was about $10 million a year difference. I don’t know as I haven’t researched it but 1 year and $8 million would be very short sighted. Damn near egregious if so.Originally posted by mjsuax13Well said. I think the difference was like 1 year and $8 million... just seems short sighted.Comment -

#40The 5th year was the issue I think. They wanted a 5th year and he wanted to be a free agent before 33. So much back and forth. It was very minimal difference in the end.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeHmmm, I thought it was about $10 million a year difference. #41Athletes have huge egos. People are constantly telling them they are the greatest. Its hard not to be out of touch with reality. When I was in college, I had people chirping in my ear how good I was and that I was going to be rich in the NFL because I played college ball. Even a Florida senator told me I was going to be great at the next level. I never got an nfl invite. Thankfully, I didn’t listen and stayed in the books but I know dozens of guys that believed the hype until reality hit them in the ass. Dak is most likely kicking himself with his good leg right about now.Originally posted by Luckycharms2012I agree with you however, Dak Prescott "can't really believe" he's worth $250 million for 5 years or $160 million for 4 years. #48Exactly, dude is worth millions today, never has to work or play football again if he invests wisely.. I don't feel sorry for him.. It's not like the Alex Smith injury where he almost had his leg amputated and was out for 2 years..Originally posted by Mac4LyfeMy dad used to say, ‘never feel sorry for a man with more money than you’.
Dak broke his ankle, a few rods, pins and screws and solid rehab and he'll be back next year, he's still young too.. No biggie..Comment -

#53Prescott has benefited from one of the best offensive lines in football since day 1. He has noticeably struggled when key lineman like Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick were out
Is he really that much better than Dalton? I guess he is but only because my opinion of Dalton is very lowComment -

#54He had an insurance policy I'm sure----hell-it might have paid him more!Originally posted by hawkeye 16If I was offered that kind of money, I would lock myself in a closet and then have them hand deliver the contract to me so I can sign it.
Life is crazy. You can fall down the stairs, get in a car accident, slip on a banana peel at the deli, etc, etc,
That's why I don't understand some of these holdouts. I would tell my agent to get me the contract as soon as humanly possible and I'll sign it. Once the check cleared, then I'd get back to work.Comment -

#56Prescott was maybe 8th best QB and thats being generous. You just don't turn down $36/mil a year or whatever it was. Jameis Winston and Cam Newton now make like $1.8/year combined. Dak is an idiotComment
