Did someone say Dusty Baker? Take a look at my name, it's the year Baker first became a manager with the Giants. Also, the year Bonds came to the Giants as well. The Giants won 103 games that year and didn't even make the playoffs cause there was no wildcard at the time.

This is the type of stuff that has been following Dusty Baker his entire career as a manager. He wins a lot of regular season games and makes it to the playoffs. Once in the playoffs, he can't seem to make the right call when the moment arrives. In fairness though, he also had a lot of bad luck in post season as well. The combination of bad decisions and bad luck has kept him from winning a championship.

Giants fans were so mad at him when they blew that lead against the Angels in 2002, management didn't bring him back. However, after 3 championships in the 2010's. Giants fans have mellowed on him and cheer for him now.

The 93 Giants had a huge hand in implementing a wild card back then with that tremendous season. The next year the wild card was born.
