Astros/Athletics Under 4.5 In First 5 Innings

Bassitt has been a beast lately, only allowing 2 runs in his last 33.2 innings. The Astros lineup has 159 at bats against this guy, but only 5 home runs. Houston cannot allow stranded base runners if they want to score against him.

McCullers has improved since his last injury, and has a history of pitching well with plenty of rest. He has not pitched since September 26th. Semien and Canha have shown patience against him by drawing walks. They can't strand base runners either because they only have 2 home runs in 83 at bats against McCullers.

I look at the total number of 8 for the game, and I keep thinking of the Astros bullpen that has been pretty bad this year. A lot of young guys are there with no playoff experience, and they could inflate the number of runs since the Astros don't have the benefit of pitching starters back to back like they did against the Twins. This bullpen lost quite a few leads after the 7th inning. I just think that number potentially allows smaller run totals for the early innings before the young guys come in and bring it closer to 8.
