    Today's MLB
I really like the favorites today but I am not loving the juice I have to lay.
I may place a two team money line parlay later, just not sure which teams.
    More later.

    Thoughts guys?
This is as much your thread as it is mine.

Don't like it, Darvish too tough, Marlin lineup not that experienced for this spot.

I'm waiting on the total of the Cub game to be posted.
Books are afraid to hang a total on that game too early.

Took a shot on Cincinnati ML and Cincinnati/Atlanta F5 Under 4. I think Castillo pitches well today and the Reds find a way to score somehow against Ian Anderson. It's going to be a close, low scoring game either way so I took that F5 under.

They did, this is what happens to power laden teams that rely on the homer but K too much.
                              They fail.
Want more proof, the Nasty Boys and the Reds against Canseco and Big Mac, Oakland was a 2:1 favorite.
How'd that work out for the A's? The 2:1 faves got swept in 4 games.

                              Who's the MVP?
Jose Rijo backed by the Nasty Boys, not Big Mac or Canseco.
Pitching wins fellas, albeit it starters or relievers, pitching wins.

That's what I liked about teams like the mid 60's- early 80's Orioles. Earl Weaver loved the 3 run homer. Of course, to do that you had to have players get on base. Seemed they always had a better than average pitching staff during that time period also. It's a shame that they didn't get over the hump and win more than the 3 World Series that they did.

I hate to go all the way back to 1969 to make a point but I'll make an exception.
Mets beat the Orioles in the 1969 World Series 4 games to 1.
Baltimore was favored 2:1 (I believe it was Baltimore -240)
That was the year of the "Amazing Mets"

Mets hit .220 for the series.
Baltimore was stacked with Hall of Fame Frank Robinson and the rest.
                                  How did the Mets win?

Some guys named Seaver and Koosman.
Even Nolan Ryan got a save.

I don't care if you have Frank Robinson, Mike Trout, The Mick, and Ty Cobb in the same lineup you're not beating this.
