maturity, wisdom, frontal brain development all good things for pressure situations.

a pimple faced 18 or 19 year is more prone to choke or make a bone headed play on a muffed snap or something.

it doesn't take that much athletic ability if you've developed the leg to punt you can do it just as well at 38 as 22

edit: just looked up the name. the dude was a highly touted Pittsburgh Pirate draft pick I'm a little familiar with him. in any event when you get these older college football players, its usually wash outs from years spent riding minor league baseball buses and they go back to school when they don't make it to the show. Like JR House or Chris Weinke

There is the whole NCAA amateur/professional rule thing

Maybe he could play some baseball or basketball if he hadnt used all 4 years of that eligibility , but not football.

But I'm not even sure he would be eligible for any sports as once you begin eligibility in any sport I think you have 5 years window clock that starts ticking within which you have to compete/complete your four seasons in all sports
