Yeah, I don’t think they will purposely tank games. They are trying to clean house of bad elements. LF seemed very needy/whiny. It just goes to show you how short NFL careers really are. People thought he was going to be a HOFer. It’s been only 3 years. He was still on his rookie contract and they got rid of him. Hopefully he saved that $18 million. Probably only 6 or 7 million after taxes, agent fees, etc.Comment -
He never amounted to much. You are going to see more and more of this kind of thing. Management is going to take a hit in their pocketbooks this season, so one way of passing this on to the players is cutting them in year 3 or 4 of their rookie contracts if they do not perform well. The Not For Long league has been cutting players off of rookie contracts for decades. Most players will never see a new deal nor ever get a pension. The average players career is less than 3 years. And society thinks ALL football players are rich, or about to be rich if they play in college. Newsflash, only 1 or 2 of the guys on that college team is going to make big money. The rest nada.
