Fernando Tatis Jr apologizing for a big game last night
Padres Manager, Tingler, Padres GM, Preller, and Rangers Manager, Woodward, at one point were all working together with the Rangers. All three of them were not happy with Tatis putting up big numbers. This is probably why the Padres will never win the World Series.

If you see when Tatis tag home and walks to the dugout, the guy Tatis is raising his arms like, "did I do something wrong"? Was to Preller. Then Tingler is in the dugout not too happy or gives him a high five.

Never heard of this unwritten rule. Absolutely stupid. Not to mention the fact that the Padres blew 7 and 10 run leads last year and the bullpen has been awful so far this year. The Rangers also had a 7 run 9th inning comeback last season. Go fukk yourself, walk him or throw a better pitch next time.

Never heard of this rule either.

So because the batter gets ahead of the pitcher he's supposed to eat a pitch?

And then the pitcher gets so offended he throws behind the next batter?

                This is beyond ridiculous.

Why not just start the at bat with an 0-1 count?

Would that make everyone feel better?

                  Unreal.

I get that, but an unwritten rule?

                      That's nuts.

And the pitcher being offended? Did he know the manager gave the take sign?

A 7 run lead is not insurmountable. It's very unlikely, maybe 1% but still this "rule" is beyond dumb.

The team with a 7 run lead is supposed to stop competing?

The idea that a pitcher is pissed because the batter swung at a meat pitch because the pitcher thinks the batter should sit out this pitch because their team is winning because of an "unwritten" rule because blah blah blah.

                            What a shit show.

                                    I don't cap "unwritten rules"

Especially ones made up on the fly.

                                    Fuk this shit.

You're ahead of the pitcher 3-0 with bases loaded or men on, or whatever, and you can go yard, go yard.

Edit, but probably best to listen to the manager first.

But fuk that entitled pitcher, they should have tossed his ass.

Pitcher was throwing 1st and 2nd pitch sliders. Isn't that against the sacred unwritten rules in a blowout game? Fukk the pussy Rangers. Tatis is a stud. You put a fastball over the plate, the kid is going to rake.

Good grief. They want him to sit there with the bat on his shoulder? Just bench him then and put in some scrub.

That unwritten rule, he missed the take sign, shit is all cover up. All a bunch of bullshit.

Unwritten rule, really? Let's ask Johnny Bench...

pitchers are ridiculous. they get to throw at your head to intimidate you or because you celebrated but you cant even try to hit their pitches when you are up by more than 5.

instead of trying to entertain ppl they just try to make the game more boring with these unwritten rules.

A bit confused here.... Is this an issue because:

A- The Rangers are just whining because their pitcher went down 3-0 with bases loaded trailing 10-3, and they feel a batter should take the pitch? Risk a 3-1 count, for a possible walk and a run, but ensure you don't accidentally hit a GS and run up the score even more than they already were?

B-Rangers were pissed they got demolished even more, and made it clear they were upset by throwing behind the next batter.

C- Tatis got the sign to take the pitch, as the Padres felt they were in a good spot leading 10-3, and there was a good chance Tatis would get walked, and they would get an extra run without risking a double play. The Rangers felt Tatis "missed" the take sign, for a chance at a GS? Rangers were upset, and Tingler was upset.

D- Tatis legitimately missed the take sign, and just so happened to hit a GS. Rangers were upset, Tingler wasn't as happy as he would normally be for a GS, but people want a story so this is becoming one.
