NFL Now Allowing Free Agent Workouts
The NFL notified its teams that it is lifting the prohibition of free-agent tryouts.

Effective immediately, teams are no longer required to have an open roster spot to hold a free-agent tryout, according to the memo sent to teams and obtained by USA TODAY Sports.

Teams can either evaluate a player by setting up a virtual tryout. They can accept workout videos sent to them by players, agents or other third parties. Teams also can host players for tryouts if they have met COVID-19 testing requirements.

Before trying out or receiving a physical, the player must produce at least two consecutive negative tests within 24 hours of one another, after arriving in the team’s city.

After two negative test results, teams may bring the player to the facility on the third day and hold the tryout and physical. Clubs are required to administer a third COVID test on the day of the tryout.
