Can someone give me a quick rundown please of how this is working? They are playing what 10-20 games? and then the playoffs? I heard there are playin games? What? Thanks

8 regular season games. Then playoffs exactly like normal.

There is some nonsense on the last seed you have to look that up.

also not all teams playing the reg season 8 games. just those in contention to make the playoffs. some shenanigans with the last two seeds or something like laker said.

If 9th seed is within 4 games of 8th seed, they play best of TWO series. If 8th seed wins first game, its over. 9th seed has to win twice. After that, same as usual with all series the normal best of 7.
