They say they will evaluate a forearm strain for him in a couple of weeks, but even then he would have to start a throwing program before he came back IF everything looked OK. Astros are going to have to rely on youngsters since I don't think too many teams are going to be sellers with a 16 team playoff field this year.

In DDD's defense of the original post, forearm injury in a pitcher really does translate to the elbow and "hopeful with some rest" could mean anything.

Elbow injuries blows, just had tendon repaired in mine last week .
Surgeon had to scrape eroded tendons off , reattach tendon to bone inside elbow , 6 month healing time frame, with zero lifting for 6 weeks .
I'm on IR for awhile
