Wait, how is this a bad thing? I saw Strasburg was a scratch, bet Yankees -1.5 at +130, line moves to -135. So I'm locked in at +130? What am I missing here? Will they void?

It’s not bad if this is your approach. But I bet the night before when lines come out based on a model that uses the starting pitcher + bullpens to project the line. I have a normal job and life and can’t babysit the lineups. Do you really think the books would make this move if they weren’t getting destroyed by bettors who rely on models?

again, I don’t have any problem with a book going to action, that’s their prerogative. But when they wait until the day AFTER the season starts....knowing full well many make deposits for the start of season....it’s engaging in false and deceptive business practices.

1)There was no advertisement until the second day of mlb
      2) there was no attempt by their management to refund deposits without payout fees

Need to legalize gambling across the United States ASAP so we can stop having to deal with these shady offshore books

One final note and I’ll let this go. It’s rather disconcerting SBR reputes itself as a medium to give honest reveiws of sportsbooks. I am not naive and understood they were in bed with the books. But incorrectly assumed they were still providing some form of a service. In the end, as many as great people there are it’s mostly a lot of fake posters shilling for the highest bidding sportsbooks and touts and many of the responses in this prove this.

IMO, it's no different than handicapping the NHL while you are waiting on the official word on who the goaltender will be.

Difference is there was never an option to bet Listed Goaltenders

Starting July, 25, 2020: For the remainder of the 2020 MLB regular season, listed pitchers will not be available. All baseball wagers, regardless of the starting pitcher, will have action unless otherwise specified.

not their fault what are they supposed to wait 2 hrs to post the line before the game? lol

Bookmaker (?) switched to action later in the season last year because of the 1-inning starters, it eliminated the problem between that and late scratches. It will take some getting used to.

It sucks that they changed the rules the day after the season started and not before. At least they were honest about it and posted it in the betting page where everyone can see it. I'm curious do you have a lot of money stored on 5dimes, why not just cash out and go to a different site?

                          Thanks guys.

i am just gonna cash out of 5dimes.

I have an account with BETDSI I use for boxing and props and looks like they still list for pitchers. I have to wait for payout and leave what I use for nfl there. Unless they decide to list quarterbacks after the 1st week of season...lol. The shame is I have always liked using 5dimes’ platform for baseball and football but this has left a bad taste in my mouth and really makes you question their leadership. Probably for the best before it bites me in the ass bigger than already has. I’m just gonna accept the payout fee and move on but this had to be said on moral principles.

                                Important Message For MLB Rules

                                ×

For the MLB games starting on Sunday, July 26th, 2020 we will revert back to our original rules.

Moneyline wagers will once again have action after the game goes 5 innings (4.5 innings if the home team is winning).

The game NO LONGER has to go 8.5/9 innings for Moneyline bets to have action.

Someone needs to explain this to me..thanks in advance

A credit to them. A straight bet winner which is recognized by the actual league they play in should be recognized by the book that takes the bet. I'm glad they realized this.

Can someone clarify a question on an action bet? If you bet "action", say you get a -140 price. Pitching change happens. Do they adjust your -140 as well according to the new line/pitchers going? Or you stay put with your original juice before the pitching change?

Depends on whether you bet listed pitchers and what book you are playing at.

If it’s action only, you get final line final rotation

There are two definitions of "Action" depending on whether you are talking about BETTING Action or LISTING Action.

BETTING Action: This is the one most people are familiar with, it means betting Action when there are listed pitchers and you get the new price if there is a pitching change. This is NOT what is going on at 5 Dimes, Bookmaker and BOL.

LISTING Action: This is when Action is literally listed as the starting pitcher, exactly what the 3 books mentioned are doing (If there are no pitchers displayed, it is exact same thing as Listing Action). In this case, you always get the odds you placed the bet at no matter what.

EDIT: I just checked, Bookmaker lists "Action" for all pitchers while 5 Dimes and BOL don't display pitchers at all. Both mean the same thing and fall under "LISTING Action" definition.

Bingo! Also many legal USA books have been doing this all along with no listed pitchers, the SugarHouse gang to name one.
