Thou I personally lost a store in the fires, I find this refreshing and Walz/ Frey feet should be held to the fire here.Comment -

I had a pair of thugs beat my mgr and get the safe on a dolly about 6 years ago. Instead of just crossing the street to their getaway car (at the Old Country Buffet) they stopped and waited for the crosswalk sign to change.
Well they waited for about 3 minutes then as they were walking across w the safe 4 squad cars roll up on them.... they drop the dolly and try to run, one got hit by a car the other rolled his ankle in a sewer drain cover lolComment -

#20Quick question, I know the interest is very high on payday loans and poor people don't understand compound interest.Originally posted by MinnesotaFatsOne of my payday loan/ check cashing shops

Sounds very profitable.
My question is how do you insure that a scumbag with a low credit score and a shit job will pay back said loan?Comment -

You can't threaten him with debt collection because his credit is already shit. You can't send leg breakers because it's a legitimate business.
So my question is what is the recourse in that instance, Seems like you would get stiffed a lot dealing with people like that.Comment -

#23So thru 1st Data we can access your bank acct 2 hours before you can when a *************** hits. It's reduced default rate to under 15% of total clients.Originally posted by BrickJamesyes but my question is what happens when a guy just flat out refuses to pay?

Really, the only way we get hosed now is when they close the account at the bank. Once a quarter I take a day at small claims and get judgments against 12-20 ppl then package them to a collection agency for 35 cents on the dollar.
So, if I have $100k in bad loans, I'll get judgements against those 100 customers and sell them for $30- $35k total, thus reducing my losses to $65k. End of the year that loss I'll take against the in one to more or less reduce the tax obligation to nothing as I run my cars, insurance and lifestyle expenses thru the biz anyway.
14 (13 now) shops, my partner and I both clear $225-$275k/ year so it's a good biz, worth the headaches.Comment -
