Trying for equal bets on each side guarantees a profit. This is what they do, and very well. Las Vegas is the same.
The line reflects the players sentiment. As of now: More people like their money on the Dems. and have wagered that way.
You could change the line this afternoon by dumping a a few hundred grand on Trump.

Well... for anyone that is completely broke I can understand. The reason why you should "tie up" the money now is because of the +145 price. If the line moves and Trump is -110 on election day people will be kicking themselves for not taking the +145 or +158 price. For anyone that thinks Trump's chances of winning are more than 50%, +145 is a STEAL! But -110 is not.

The odds could just as easily improve as worsen regardless of what the bettor caps it at. It doesn't matter whether ur broke or it's .1% of your bankroll, placing cash on an event that happens months later is a laughable strategy unless you have horrible money management and are scared you will blow the money before you can bet it in November.
