I have in-laws who are Native American. The name is very offensive. Don't speak in the name of Native Americans if you are not one of them.

the organization has wanted to get away from it for decades now. its the old school fans that want it to stay so they dont want to upset them since its a small market

they ditched wearing cheif wahoo for games last year but still kept selling the merch

ive heard mixed reviews on it bein offensive tho. some natives dont like it cuz they say "wahoo" is a derogatory term to them and they don't like that its a "cartoonish" indian

others like the story behind it. if im not mistaken they had the first native American indian play for them and supposedly they changed their name to honor him back in early 1900s.. most people dont know that part

me personally, i am sick of the controversy every year about it so i wish they would go back to the original Cleveland mlb name

the spiders. they were only it for a few seasons but i think its a cool unique name. no one else in any sports represents

In this case here, I'd be all right with them changing their name to the Spiders. It's part of their history, and I think it opens many doors to some great marketing of the team.

I'd be partial to a renaming of the Redskins to the Braves since that name is also in their history, and would maybe allow them to keep the logo. The problem is that I don't believe that would be nearly enough for the "woken" crowd.
