I got hammered up a way back and went to this. These guys are amazing. We even started the choke it down chant half way through the contest and they were all able to keep their concentration going. I tried but was only able to throw 6.5 hot dogs down my throat. A sorry showing indeed.
As for betting, look at the venue this year. I think it is in an air conditioned room so if there is a Chestnut breaking his record prop, I might take that one on. Other than that, he can't be beat but I wouldn't bet it. I don't think these guys were playing the circuit this year so we can't be sure who has been training and who has been slacking off.

i got chesnut at +615 back in april. i thought he wasn't gonna end up not being in it, or that some newcomer was entering that was gonna be a ringer or some crap, because of the odds they gave chesnut. Now most places it's the other way around, chesnut is -600

Love the "AC room" insight! Chestnut always says the heat slows him down but if it's cool, its OVER 72.5 for me.
