A friend of mine (26 years old in awesome shape) just spent 23 days in the hospital. This is not the flu that you get over. She has serious respiratory issues now. A great number of people on ventilators here are young.

Why does it have to be life and death? What if you needed an elective surgery like hernia, kidney transplant or a mastectomy? Well, all elective surgeries have been cancelled for now. 3 months ago the emergency room was EMPTY. I’m talking 1 or 2 people a night. Now? Packed. People waiting hours to be treated. Why? There is a good chance they wont go up because many of the hospital patients today are under 40 or so and they seem to recover faster and have less fatalities. But only time will tell... What is forgotten here is that many cases are beginning to show in many rural areas of the country where older people tend to live, Missouri is one of those states.

Yep, I’m skin and bones, lost mostly muscle (50+ lbs). Can barely speak, Vocal chords gone from being incubated during surgeries. Months of rehab ahead. But I’m here. I saw too many people go Code Blue.
