Anything is possible but counterfeit ballots not likely without clearly being found out by county election officials.

It varies by state but in Texas:

• To register to vote, you need ID or soc sec number that matches your address. - that means identity theft would be required to start the process. Not many people are going to commit identity theft for election fraud.
• Signatures are required on the request for mail-in ballot and on the final ballot. If signatures do not match - its tossed.
• Bar codes on mail-in ballots are specific to each person. If codes don't match name/address - its tossed.

I'm sure there's holes in the system but to have a fraud on any scale that would impact Pres election would be easily identified and quashed. Mail-in fraud accounted for 491 cases out of BILLIONS of votes between 2000-2012. That's < 0.00005%.


More likely to occur is Ballot Harvesting. See North Carolina Republican Congressman's campaign in 2018. But, again that was small relative to a presidential election and it was still found quickly.

Here is what I don’t get. The Mrs. wanted two rolls of quarters yesterday. Went to the bank and asked them to take $20 out of checking account for the two rolls. ( I didn’t have any money on me). The clerk asked me for identification, which was no problem for me. Gave him my drivers license.
