unbelievable fight. two gladiators exchanging vicious blows. Burgos came in with an excellent gameplan but you just can't prepare for world class power. Emmett is just a monster. TITLE SHOT SOON.

main event winner..CURTIS BLAYDES (-350)
it got a little spooky at the end but pretty much a wire to wire victory for Blaydes. to be able to take a man that large down 10+ times is impressive. I wonder whats next for him.

don't know much about Justin Jaynes but he is coming off a string of KO victories and looked solid at the weigh ins. I'm gonna fade Frank Camacho here who not only missed weight but really wasn't even close & just looked drained at the face offs. he has also lost the last three of four fights. the size disadvantage for Jaynes is a concern but I think his path to victory starts with getting out of the first round clean & then outgassing Camacho in the subsequent rounds.
play #2: Tecia Torres +185
Tecia Torres is coming off four straight losses but all of them are against some savages. in fact, all five of her losses in the UFC are against the cream of the crop. she matches up against Brianna Van Buren who is now making her second appearance in the UFC. this is one of the few times that Torres isn't terribly outsized against her opponent & in fact she looks to be the bigger, stronger fighter in this matchup after watching the face offs.
play #3: Josh Emmett +132
play #4: Josh Emmett/Shane Burgos U2.5 -130
Shane Burgos is a hard-nosed boxer who pushes the pace constantly with his impressive cardio. on the other hand, Josh Emmett is more of a calculated fighter who picks his spots well & looks for that powerful right hand to put his opponents to sleep. this should be an all out war especially considering the dynamics of the cage. its a power vs precision matchup and for that reason I don't see this fight going to the cards. either Burgos lands a flurry of blows against the cage or Emmett punishes him for getting overconfident with his boxing. though I see the latter as the more likely scenario. Burgos is simply too hittable. one mistake & Emmett will take his head off. should be a very exciting fight.
play #5: Roosevelt Roberts & Curtis Blaydes parlay -137
Roosevelt Roberts is one of the more intriguing prospects in the sport to me. he exudes maximum confidence yet stays extremely poised in the octagon. his skillset is well rounded and his length will be a problem for most fighters in the division. I see him having his way with Jim Miller who's only real path to victory would be via submission. even though this bout is at catchweight, it'll still be a pivotal fight for Roberts as he begins his journey through the ranks of the lightweight division. then we have Curtis Blaydes who is simply the most skilled heavyweight outside of Francis Ngannou. he trains with Elevation Fight Team which is one of the more prominent camps in the sport. all those guys have ridiculous cardio & well-rounded offensive skillsets. I just don't see Blaydes having much trouble here & think he will have his way against Alexander Volkov.

good night of action & healthy profits on top. can't ask for better then that. next week is the last event before Fight Island. the rest of the sports leagues start to pick back up in July as well so Im gonna be ending this little "gambling" experiment I had & going back to the basics. see you guys next week. same time same place. PEACE.

early pick: Khama Worthy +240
Luis Pena has that hot prospect label attached to his name but truthfully his skillset just isn't quite there yet to justify such a line against a fighter like Khama Worthy. his template to victory revolves around grappling and mauling his opponents on the floor. he's had some success doing that but if you consider the overall skill level of his opponents its not all that impressive. he has never matched up against a high level striker like Worthy who has knockout punch power. Worthy is coming off six straight wins with four of those being finishes & has faced off against some of the top tier talent in the UFC during his career. he cashed as a huge underdog in his last bout where he took out another hot prospect type in Devonte Smith. we'll see if Pena passes the test because this is his most difficult one to date but at these odds I gotta take Worthy & feel good about it. as long as he can fend off Pena's takedown attempts and keep this fight on the feet, I like his chances to reel in another win against a high profile prospect.

tough card. just the one play from me for now. couple of leans I might pull the trigger on later. we'll see. thought the boys going at it in the main event looked spectacular at the weigh ins. Dan Hooker looked absolutely JACKED & DP looked phenomenal as well. I wanted to find a way to take DP but I just couldn't do it. will most likely just watch that one cuz it should be a great fight. though I don't see it taking the full 5. I believe the winner will walk out of the octagon with a KO victory. HAPPY SATURDAY TO ALL & GOOD LUCK.

got one: Julian Arosa/Sean Woodson does NOT go distance -170
I believe last week we saw Justin Jaynes lay out the formula to success for some of these short notice fighters. GO ALL IN ROUND ONE. I don't see how else Arosa can have success beyond the first round because Woodson will just pick him apart with his boxing for the duration of the fight. and although Woodson doesn't have much power behind his shots, I think if he outgasses Arosa and makes the fight look one sided enough in the later rounds, that can lead to either a ref stoppage or submission victory.

it seems like most of the fights where someone takes it on short notice always end early. interesting angle to keep in mind & I know I will do my homework on it going forward.
