Except Basketball was supposed to end right around now and they were already halfway through a season. Teams (warriors) and players are already saying they don't want to retrun. NFL hasn't even started so it is not a precedent for them.

What's your point? The fact that they were halfway through the season and the commissioner truncated what was left of the regular season means it should have been easy peasy for players to get on board and play... I mean what more do you want? The postseason is right in front of 'em. The NFL, conversely, would have to endure an entire season and postseason with cumbersome measures in place, bigger rosters, bigger staff, and more equipment to haul.

If the NBA sits, it's pretty much a tell as to where this whole thing is headed. There is a bigger agenda afoot and if it entails denying the baby (masses) his pacifier (sports) then so be it.

If NBA doesn't resume, I have a feeling NFL won't either. Once the precedent's been set, it's easier to follow suit. Plus this 2nd wave CV-19 nonsense is gonna ramp up again and the media is gonna have a field day between that and the race card, which now apparently constitutes every card in the deck.

I'll be looking at a lot more stats than games from here on out. I've found in this sports lull that I actually miss the ability to handicap more than the games themselves. Have found that life without the boob tube on is not that bad. Read more books, and get my news from websites much more than TV. One thing I've learned is I probably won't be donating too much money to these prima donnas from here on out in sports packages or traveling to live games, but I won't mind making a buck or two of their stats.

Glad to see they're killing their Golden Goose. Over the past few years, I've watched less and less pro sports, particularly the NFL. Gave up on the NBA back around the mid 90's. MLB greed is disgusting and continues to diminish the average fan's chances of attending as well as hurting future fan development. Too much of the all about me and the us against the man mentality in the NBA and NFL. Enjoy college football and basketball still, but race/politics will no doubt affect those organizations as well. For soccer excluding the top 3 teams of each league the home field advantage is lost due to no fans. So if you bet on the away teams to win or not lose you will end up with a profit as the books have not adjusted the lines for no fans and you get a lot of value on the away teams.

The same will happen if football, baseball, basketball or hockey start. There would be tremendous value in taking the points or betting the underdogs as the home field advantage will not exist.

I only watch 1 game per week but bet 25 games. I made $1000 today and didn't watch a game as I was at work. Came home and saw my book balance grow. I don't spent time tracking stats or building models. 10 min of capping and place bets.

NBA is actually pretty transparent compared to most leagues. The NFL runs like a government. Big brother type feeling too. Full of racist owners for sure as well.
