San Francisco firefighters battle fire on Pier 45
A quarter of the pier is gone.

My Dad used to take us there when I was a kid. He was stationed at Travis AFB at the time.

We would take crab nets and poles and go crabbing and fishing off the pier.

Went home with buckets of crabs every time.

    Fun times and good memories.

I've mixed feelings about that city. I live in Southern California and SF used to be a great city to take a quick flight and enjoy a few days off. It wasn't that long ago either. Now though, it really is a shithole. I went up there March 2019 with my girlfriend from El Salvador and she couldn't believe that we were still in the United States. Nonetheless, if that city can be 'fixed' it can be one of the great destinations again, so I don't want to see landmarks burning down.

The arcade was destroyed. Classic games/machines there. Just took my kid there about 5 months ago.
Edit...just read the arcade was mostly saved.

You still can. Pier 39 is the fisherman's wharf. You most likely weren't going to do anything at pier 45 any way

I was thinking "are you sure frank?" thinking the arcade was at Pier 39.

Then it dawned on me, you're talking about the old timey penny arcade.

Un fukkin real frank. We're talking about landmark territory getting burned in Fisherman's Wharf.

                                Just sick.
