TNT Isiah Thomas releases his 5 best players he ever played against!!!
Jordan not at the top of that list!! Little shocked he put Larry Bird ahead of Magic Johnson!!!

If the long-held grudge between Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas had any hope of softening, “The Last Dance” has all but solidified them taking their beef to the grave.

Thomas offered this list to Reiter of the best five players he competed against, in order:

    • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
    • Larry Bird
    • Magic Johnson
    • Michael Jordan
    • Julius Erving

That's a good point!!! He did say that.

Probably said that because Bird and the Celtics were lighting up him and the Pistons time and time again in the playoffs..

He did have his foot in his mouth and said he was sorry for saying that.. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/...357-story.html

Ask Adrian Dantley about Thomas. Not one of Isiah's most cordial ex-teammates,
especially after Thomas lobbied management to trade Adrian for Mark Aguirre,
his old buddy from the their old Chicago ghetto called K-Town.

Dantley, still a fine forward when he was traded, lost his BEST chance to get a ring
and never forgave Thomas. Thomas spent most of his years in Detroit sucking up
to owner Bill Davidson, and never developed any chemistry with Adrian.

Thomas was SO sure that he was the franchise's "Golden Child" that he PREMATURELY
-- and ultimately, incorrectly -- leaked to the Detroit press in 1992 that Davidson was
going to sign him to a $55M (A LOT of money back then) long-term deal, and eventually
                  hire him as GM!

Apparently, Davidson didn't like that idea NEARLY as much as Isiah did. It never happened!

Instead, Joe Dumars -- a better player and teammate than Thomas anyway -- was hired
as GM and won a championship. Isiah has bounced around with middling success ever since....

If Bird was black, his penis would be below average size.

Isaiah Thomas has indeed always been full of shit.
He conned another full of shit jackass James Dolan for years.

Now back to the topic at hand, Kareem did have that unstoppable sky hook of his.
I wish I was older when he was playing in his prime, I'd probably appreciate him even more.

I never saw Dr. J in his prime but I have seen some of his sick dunks on you tube.
Some of those dunks defied gravity.

Bird was one of the smartest basketball players I ever saw play.
Magic, like Bird and Jordan were legendary icons.
Out of the three of them only one can truly be the GOAT, and that would be MJ and I suppose you could argue that but you'd be wrong (imo)

I still feel for Dantley as this was my favorite of all the Piston teams. Totally robbed of the title by that phantom call on Laimbeer in game 6, not too mention Kareem traveled as well on the play. Disagree on the Dumars comment though. Thomas maybe the best small point guard of all time and the clear leader and face of the franchise. While a great teammate who was perfect for his role there have been a lot of Joe Dumars type talents in the NBA.

He's just a salty bitch. Bird above both MJs? lol, you can't possibly take that seriously. He's not very smart to begin with, but this is clearly part of his ongoing thing against Jordan. He knows he can't possibly leave him off the top 5, puts him at #4 to get under his skin and because he's bitter

Larry Legend was tough, I remember as a little kid watching on.. Magic was chasing him his entire career.. Larry with the quick shot and won titles.. That white boy could play!!! Hit buzzer beater after buzzer beater game winners when healthy..

Magic was always chasing Larry's shadow... This is coming from an LA resident and Laker fan from the crib.. Bird was one TOUGH white boy that could ball!!

You sound like my Bird lovin brother in law. How was Magic chasing Bird when Magic beat him in the NCAA final and then won the first NBA title? Seems to me to be the other way around. Great battles though.

Magic was always chasing Larry's shadow... This is coming from an LA resident and Laker fan from the crib.. Bird was one TOUGH white boy that could ball!!

^^ Magic was better in the end. I still put Magic Johnson above Bird by a hair as I stated in my above thread starting post..

I just said when Bird was healthy he was the better player.. Magic out lasted Bird and got better with time when Bird broke down physically..

In their primes physically that's a tough call though!!! Dude was radar quick release...

Can't forget Larry legend.. Dude had eyes and could see the floor and pass too..

He was a killer with game winners for a few years.. Teams feared him with the ball and last shot.. Teams knew it was going in..

Yeah, no disrespect to Larry. Guy was an absolute beast. Just gotta be ultra critical when we're talking about the top 5 of all time. He's top 10 without question, probably 4 or 5. In particular I just think it's a crime to put him ahead of Jordan

Magic and Bird played with great players so their stats and titles are inflated

Kareem was just bigger than everyone so had big advantage

Jordan 1 vs 5 every night and still dominated and won
