While I do agree overall with the sentiment you express
the bottom line is the democrat voters have already made
it very clear they want Joe Biden, regardless if he is the best
candidate or not.
The voters believe and I have to concur based on the evidence
that Biden has a much better chance of defeating Trump than
any other candidate.
He has the government history,
he's spent twice as much time in the white house than Trump,
he has cornered the market on the all important African-
American voter (who despise Trump),
he is a moderate Democrat (compared with others)
he is not a bigot/racist (unlike Trump)
he is DEFINITELY more fiscally responsible than Trump,
polls show him leading in almost every state in the nation
especially in key battleground states (Michigan, Wisconsin,
and Pennsylvania) which prevented Hillary from a landslide
victory by narrow margins in each state - which all now
have Democrat governors with solid approval numbers.

I'm ambivalent there.....could go either way....it's unclear.

But, the fact of the matter is, Biden could flop horribly and on Nov 3
it just won't matter.

Democrats, and a majority of Independents, plus a growing percentage
of "never Trump" Republicans, all want Trump out of there regardless
who gets in.Their collective disdain for him and his administration is so
strong that they would vote for Mitt Romney or Marco Rubio
if they were the Democratic candidate!!!
