If a guy takes a long shot so most likely lose unless a couple of them come in.

remember some clown in 80's refused to take a pick 6 ticket at meadowlands. The ticket seller had to eat it because didn't have time to exchange. It won and guy won 300,000. Guy tried to sue. lol

i won once by just taking all 5's, but i was in a hurry and forgot about contest and only had like 2 minutes. And i got lucky by 1 or 2 huge longshots coming in. There was absolutely no handicapping involved. Just blind luck.
i notice people taking all 1's , all 3's , all 7's and on and on just about every contest.
they just taking a gamble like a lotto and just picking a number and riding that.

So i get where the 40 cap comes into play. Some guys really take horses seriously.
Now me, i just look at trainer,jockey, and maybe owner, and then morning line, and just guess off that, like if i see a trainer-jockey combo in top 3 of standings in current meet i decent odds, i'm playing it. Throw in the owner in that combo and if i have all 3, then i'm definitely playing that horse.


And even doing it that way, i might get lucky and have 4 or 5 winners, but i still lose because someone played all 1's or all 7's and hit a longshot on 1 race. But most times i still only hit 1 or 2, and might hit place or show for a few others.

i missed getting my plays in yesterday, and i noticed i would've hit 5 of first 8, but my total still would've fell wayyy short to win.
