My mom lives in palm harbor. It’s a nice area but a little to suburban like Imo. There’s some cool towns around there that are more to my liking. She lived in safety harbor for a few years before she bought a house in palm harbor. She says she wished she’d bought in safety harbor instead. It was just a cooler town... more quaint.... right by water... cool little downtown area... manatees.

that said I still love the whole Tampa/Clearwater area you can get to lots of different cool spots from palm harbor with little drive. Dunedin is nice too and tarpon springs

Im north of Naples. Up in space coast. We moved to florida from Chicago for a big part to get away from winter. Been 5 years. Don’t regret it at all. You will love it

Fatty. I can choose from Innisbrook or Tiberun. Mrs. Works from home in corporate travel so that’s not an issue. We enjoy going out to bars and such. Typical 40 something crowd.

Personally....I think you'd like the Cape Coral/ Ft Myers scene (20 min drive down 75 to Tiberun) more than Naples proper. When you visit take the time to see Ft Myers Beach, DT Fort Myers district and 47th Terrace in Cape. That's the 30-50 crowd that can still go to 3am!!! Plus the prices are better and it's closer to airport, and you can get house w direct access via canal to gulf.

You might also want to look at that area up by St Pete. It's been awhile since I've been but those are a couple of fun revamped areas Downtown w lots to do and good local airports to fly anywhere from....but I'm guessing you'll find the Naples gig better, but just know that Naples is a very old and stuffy community. Theres nothing but gated communitys and boring old people cities between Naples and South Ft Myers (Estero, Bonita). Most of those areas close by 10 pm.

Let me get you and the misses a tour when you visit...you'll see what I'm saying.

Palm Harbor is nice, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it awesome. Naples is very nice, but IMHO way too pricey. Naples probably puts you in an area where hurricanes are more frequent, but in either case, getting on the interstate during an evacuation is a mess. Palm Harbor puts you closer to a major airport, if that matters.

Fatty like a said we are tentatively scheduled to go down to Tampa on Memorial Day (Fri-Tues) so let me know your schedule. Thinking we are going to rent the 1st year here to see if we really like it. Was looking at a lot of rental properties and most were under the 2k a month range.
