#37Legalized online gambling is a far bigger threat to Las Vegas than a seasonal flu. What’s the incentive to go to Vegas when I can place the same bets from my home? Nothing.
Shows aren’t enough to keep Vegas percolating either.Comment -

#39Good weather and sunshine. Most places in USA have terrible winter weather and humid summers. Vegas has neither of those things. It's a great vacation destination. Close to Grand Canyon, one of the coolest landmarks in the entire world. Now it has an NFL team.Originally posted by Plaza23Legalized online gambling is a far bigger threat to Las Vegas than a seasonal flu. Idk how the casinos will do necessarily but the actual city is a good vacation and conference destination. I've gone to Vegas before on a trip and didn't gamble. I went to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, went skydiving and a bunch of other shit. I didn't have time to gamble.
I would go back to Vegas even if there weren't casinos but obviously the casinos are what attracts a lot of people and is a big plus for degens. I would live in Vegas just bc of the weather. Outside of CA and AZ, it's hard to find warm, sunny yearlong weather that isn't swampass humid all summer.Comment -

#43They could give two F's about sports bettors hence they don't get comps. Vegas makes money on slot players, high rolling baccarat players, dining, and entertainment.Originally posted by Vikings2The bottom line is what counts. Vegas will have to give away hotel rooms and etc to get sports bettors back to Vegas.
What Vegas will care about is the nightclub industry getting crushed for a while. They make far more charging thousands for bottle service versus the degen betting $10.00 parlays in the sportsbook.Comment -

I'm a friend of the band "The Killers"
They're Las Vegas based and a couple of years ago I flew out 3400 miles from the East Coast to see the 10 year anniversary extravaganza of the "Sams Town" release at Sams Town.
I would have flown out anyways even if I wasn't into gambling.
I have MMA junkie friends that have no interest in gambling fly out for some championship matches.
I'm not a Celine Dion fan but some my wife's girl friends have gone to Vegas just to party and see her show.
Point being even if you aren't into gambling there's still not just concerts, but elite concerts and shows, world class golfing, and a ton of other activities Vegas offers that you just can't get pretty much anyplace else.
Vegas will suffer short term, that's a given, long term they'll be thriving again.
If I was a betting man (and I am) I'd make book on that.Comment -

Vegas doesn't evolve around sportsbettting, my Gawd
Even so, sportsbetting will be fine here, but one or two outs have a small chance of going broke if the casinos are still blacked out come July 1, some will begin to really worry if they can survive.Comment -

Somebody told me you had a boyfriend that looked like a girlfriend that I had in Feb. of last year
I've got soul but I'm not a soldier
I just can't look it's killing me and taking control
He doesn't look a thing like Jesus but he talks like a gentleman like you imagined when you were young
You can definitely see the Vegas influence in their lyrics. One of my favorite bands from the 2000s. Many great memories listening to those songs with friends. Honorable mention to Panic! And 5 finger Dp for coming out of Vegas also.Comment -
