For unemployment in Nevada it is absolutely yes. Provided he was paying tax on it while self-employed, or his employer was paying it while he was an employee. It's an insurance program, so only people who were paying the premiums are eligible to collect.

The food stamps is based around income, assets, and dependents. So some professional gambler may be eligible even when they are working, and many people are not eligible even when they lose their job.

Of course that is all from before the state of emergency. Lots of this stuff is changing with all the stuff that's been going on.

It was my undrestanding that we couldn't file for unemployment until a recent change where it's possible to fall under an independant contractor capacity.

I think it's going to be case by case if at all. I can't imagine the old lady that hits a huge jackpot and then files as a gambler the next few years will get unemployment.

I've been looking into this, but all I've uncovered is that you can try, but I haven't heard of anyone succeeding here.

If you have been filing a Schedule C every year a as professional gambler then yes, you can qualify for the $600

I think this the exception they made. In the past, this was not possible.

I can't see an instance if you were getting unemployment, they would deem that too high an income to receive food stamps..
Have to believe if you get the one, you get the other..

Sex is happy place. How much you stressing over a job, finances, virus, kids or health while distracted by hot sex. That's called happy place. Find that place as much as you can doing whatever. Playing music also gets me to that happy place as does chinese take out...enjoy the day. Looking at a healthy bank account doesn't get me to happy.
