I like single elimination tournament. Seed all 30 teams based on record 1 through 30. First round games hosted by higher seed with the top two teams getting a first round bye. Then have four regions hosted by the top 4 teams for the sweet sixteen/ great eight rounds. Final four then hosted by higher remaining seed. Would make for some fun. I might actually watch if they went to a single elimination type of playoff.

Virginia already extended the shutdown throughjune and you meed over a hundred people to show an NBA game without a hundred people in the arena even if you have no fans. Youbstilk meed, media, security, assistants, cleaners, I dont see the aeason resuming this year. Practice facilities are also closed right now so many of these players wont be in game shape by june.

Best way forward is to play out the regular season at two neutral sites, games running all day ...just like a pre-season to get players back into shape. Then a single elimination playoffs. Get it over with as quickly as possible.

They might complete a few gms to meet tv contracts

But they most likley go straight to playoffs

Thing is most players aren't even touching a basketball right now so it's going to take at least a couple weeks for them to get it all back. Two weeks is about a dozen games, so may as well go a few extra to complete the season.

I read that in Italy they're going to finish their season and start the next one immediately after! I could see the season ending in September and picking up again the same month. Cram the draft & FA into a couple weeks - FA doesn't last that long anyway for the big names. Maybe if they took this route they could have travel & fans.

More talk of cancellation now. Possibly a negotiating ploy re the cut, but I think the more time passes the less everyone involved gives a shit. I prefer they let it go and pick up with the draft & summer league ASAP.
