MLB commissioner said this morning if the virus is gone they would like to start a partial season sometime in May. But it all depends on the virus, won’t be a full season no matter what happens he said

Korea was going to start their basketball league end of this month but cancelled all sports for rest of the year

China targeted April 15th to restart CBA but that's been pushed back to May at the earliest

One has to wonder, if above is fairly accurate, how might the reality of NOT having a vaccine at least until next February/March, what that may mean to ticket sales & attendance at sporting events -- assuming there are sporting events.
Think about it. Can professional and major US college sports survive WITHOUT ticket sales & attendence ?!
Also, we have to consider the possibility that even television revenues that support these leagues may be undermined due to vastly reduced advertising revenues.

And also, IF they try to resume sports leagues later this year, what happens when one or two or several players in a game are found to have the virus - with NO vaccine possible until next March??

No one knows right now. My guess is that they will no matter what. It serves as a way to keep their league in the public eye, which will be especially needed over the coming year, given all the other crap we'll be dealing with.

Hmmm they recently completely shut down the entire NBA season after only 2 players tested positive.
This is because they may have infected others who don't know it for up to a week.
Putting them on the injured list still means his teammates and all recent opponents were exposed and possible carriers themselves even if they don't show symptoms immediately.
They would have to shut it all down again like they did 3 weeks ago.

If they start using vax to everyone prior to september, first games will be january 2021, if not - there wont be any games in the next 12 months

China has already pushed their start back twice. It'll be 5 months if it starts when they next try. I thought NBA might start for the finals a few weeks back but now would be surprised if this season isn't called.

Have to remember in the West we're only just beginning, this thing is going to get a lot worse the next few weeks/months.
