The theory is that the virus originated/created at the Wuhan Laboratory, was tested on bats which were then sold on the bushmeat market. Someone ate the infected bat and here we are 3 months later in a full blown pandemic

The other more darker alternative is that China released it into the wild intentionally to test how a bioweapon would spread and/or crash the world economy
