#37well guess it depends on how u look at it one sees them as freedoms and they are the one allowing it sees it as slavery its all about perspective. a man has as many masters as he has vices. your "loving" governor controlled by oligarchs didnt give you these freedoms because he cares for you rather as a burden to you to enslave you, the old rule by passion. this is free money to them. getting high and gambling was the theme for the plebs of "1984", as long as they had that they were happy and never noticed how they were getting raped and pillaged.
It's still better to have some illusion of freedom than none at all. It could be worse. You could live in state like Utah which doesn't even allow regular casinos or slots, much less sports, lol.
I'm happy that I no longer have to deal with the offshore drug cartels that stiff people or slow pay. Fukk em. I like that my friends are no longer going to get locked up for petty weed possession, a victimless crime. It could definitely be better but it could also be way worse. Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida for examples. To each their own man.Comment -

#39Ya, I'd rather not hijack this other guy's thread and turn it political but you make a valid point. All of the blue states are trending legal weed and legal sports. Think CA, OR, WA, NV, CO, IL, NJ, MA etc. While most red states have little desire for either. Think UT, WY, the Dakotas, TX, MO, KS, AL, FL etc. Great observation!Comment -

#46Don't worry we will! IL has the best of everything now. Legal weed, legal sports, legal sports at sports stadiums. Nobody else even close in America. IL went from one of the worst states to one of the most free in the span of one governor. Unreal. A lot of states don't gaf about anything or their citizens' freedoms.Comment -

it doesn't matter. I think it is quite easily the state with the biggest group of gambling degen sports action junkies with disposable income. they'll bet into anything.
brick and mortar get an 18 month head start into draft kings and fan duel get to launch in Illinois
I just hope Wrigley for sure goes ahead with gambling at the ballpark. Cubs games will be even more amazing. I'd also be great if Hawthorne race track can get up and running soon and save that place.Comment -

1 book in whole state right now only. Next year the online only places will be able to set up too DKs, Fanduel. IL has the best law passed by any state so far but also the slowest implementation. It's liberal af though, books will be everywhere. Casinos, horsetracks, nascar, MLB stadiums, online apps.Comment -
