it was the tragedy of him dying and how many current players are affected. this is why i think the lakers now win this year.

I find it all a bit baffling.

Yes, great player. Very sad. Even sadder about the beautiful young daughter and all the other victims.

But you'd have to go back many many years to remember anyone's death eliciting a bigger public response. Princess Di's in the UK perhaps? And she was Royalty.

Kobe wasn't royalty, he was a basketball player, respected by everyone but not even particularly well liked in his prime. With some well-chronicled off court baggage.

I'm baffled.

Nope but he did more for the NBA than Kobe....also pretty sure Kobe forced that pilot to get him where he needed to be.....all professional pilots say the crash was avoidable
